# Language Objectives

### MRS22-07

Lesson 16-

Language Objectives: Students will describe to the teacher the meaning of standard deviation using the mean of the population as a point of reference.                                                                                                                                         Lesson 17A - The students will be able to write one or two sentences about  the differences between radians and degrees by converting to each other units.

Lesson 17B -  The students will be able to write one or two sentences about the differences between the since and cosine functions by graphing both graphs.

Lesson 18 - Students will be able to orally  explain the development of the parabolic equation based on its focus and directrix.

Lesson 19 -  Language Objectives: Student in their groups may need to first discuss what it means to prove anything. Circulate to assist those having trouble with the question and to find those who might present their answer.Their presentation should involved the use of words such as derived, substitute, replace.                                                                           Lesson 20  Teacher will ask members of the groups for a short explanation as to their understanding of the inverse functions and their corresponding domain/range restrains

### MES44QC

Lesson 10- Language Objectives: Students will orally explain to the teacher at least three methods to solve quadratic equations using one of those methods to find the x-intercepts.

Lesson 11 - Students will write a short description of the different types of discriminant by graphing the possible number of x-intercepts that a quadratic equation can generate.                                                                                                                                         Lesson 12- Describe how the x-intercepts of a quadratic equation can be interpreted as the solutions of the function.                                                                                                                                         Lesson 13 - To allow the students to explain in their own words the differences between the two interest rate exponential equations. Students should know when to use one over the other.                                                                                                                              Lesson 14 - To use appropriate vocabulary to describe the exponential growth function. The vocabulary words should include: initial value, growth factor, increase, decrease.

Lesson 15 - The students should write the differences between the mean and the median by selecting a sample of data to calculate both.
